Surveillance
Connecting cameras in a way that allows them to be viewed and/or recorded is calledClosed Circuit TV. Cameras give an added piece of mind to security to know there is a visual record of what happens when you are not at home. And it offers a way to see who is at the front door before you open the door.
Cameras have long been used in commercial to deter and record criminal activity.
And the same applies to the home.
